I am an honours graduate of Camosun College Fine Arts Program in Victoria, BC. Canada and a BFA honours graduate of the University of Victoria where I also studied art history and took my B.Ed in art education. I continue to develop my portfolio at Vancouver’s Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
My creativity is strongly influenced by the Surrealist concept of Automatism and also by Shamanic art practices. Both of these approaches involve a ritual journey inside oneself to evoke subconscious images that are then intuitively made tangible. I work and the images appear. I have no initial judgement and I honour and nourish the figures and forms that emerge.
Hi John, I was happily sidelined by your images today. Thanks for posting them. Time is never wasted when feeling and witnessing an artist’s nourishment (as you say). I am inspired
Wow Lesley I’m honoured by your hike through my galleries and by your comments. That we all continue to inspire each other is one treasured aspect of blogging…
I agree 100% – that you use the word -treasures- is so apt.!
