The 100 #63 – Intersections -2.

So I had to put Intersections 1 into dry dock – a glitch with the photo. I will republish it at the end of this series of 7. For those of you who have already liked and commented on #1, thank you, however; you should know that my reflection in the poster was not intended – check out its resurrection later.

Hollywood & Vine. Haight & Ashbury. Portage & Main. Davie & Denman. Great cities are composed of great intersections. Recognizable outside of their city limits, these intersections play host to significant historical events, define the culture of a place, and are the meeting point for diverse groups of people.

 Launched February 2013 at Waterfront Station, Intersections celebrates the unique attributes of seven essential cross-streets throughout Vancouver through graphic design.

 For this exhibition seven local designers were invited to respond to a specified Vancouver intersection. Drawing from history, geography, architecture, observation and folklore, each resulted in a design that addresses the unique character of place.

 Intersections is conceived and curated by the Platform Gallery. The exhibition is produced in collaboration with the Canada Line Public Art Program, with support from numerous community sponsors and some of Vancouver’s best design talent.
